Alternatively, Mr. B could decide that Mr. C’s camp isn’t worth his time and turn toward Mr. P. This move would be devastating for Mr. C. With Mr. B’s support, Mr. P could not only secure his position but possibly extend it through extraordinary measures like martial law. Mr. B, feeling disrespected by Mr. C’s initial indifference, might relish the chance to prove that he’s the true kingmaker—the alpha of alphas.

The Outcome

In total, we have four possible scenarios, but three of them favor Mr. P. Only one scenario—Mr. B fully aligning with Mr. C and getting everyone on board—favors Mr. C. The odds, it seems, are stacked against him.
